San Pedro Atacama

San Pedro, an oasis in the middle of a desert, we travelled for a week to get here and everyone else had the same idea. This is backpacker heaven, bars restaurants and tour agencies everywhere and it's such an amazing town, a town from a western. Today we drove into the desert and acquainted ourselves with the Laguna Cejar which is a high altitude, high salt lake in the middle of the Atacama. It was tops, and so refreshing, and it's impossible to sink, I felt like a boat, like a fat person normally would at the beach, it's impossible to stay vertical, you could float and balance drinks and lunch on your belly,  again, so envious of the fatties. Next stop is Bolivia, but first, a few days r and r in a really beautiful location.

On route to San Pedro the  high plain highway.

San Pedro early morning.

The Laguna Cejar the floatilla of peace.

No hands or feet required.

The local boys play some mean panpipes as we eat dinner
