A few days ago we left the tranquility of Palomino and hiked into the national park south of the area we were staying. Word on the street was the this has Colombias best beaches. It was true, outstanding stretch of coast, the two hour hike both ways with our packs was worth it, bloody hot, but worth it. Have been to Thailand the whitsundays etc, these beaches in Colombia were nicer, cleaner, and whiter. We set camp at a spot called Cabot San Juan... Which had a great beach, the only downside was that every backpacker tool from Colombia had the same idea, sleep was not possible. Despite no power, no bars, no water, these guys still find a way to make noise.....who carries bongo drums for two hours into the jungle?
Our burros arrive with our heavy packs.
